2026 CALL GUIDELINES FOR 1 CREATION RESIDENCY -SA TALAIA

1.INTRODUCTION
Inestable is a performing arts project based in Valencia (Spain), focused on contemporary and innovative theatre and circus proposals. In addition to its regular programme, it develops cooperation projects, artístic residencies and territorial exchange networks.
The rural residency of Somiatruites is located in Sant Mateu (Castellón). It is a rural cultural space created in 2021 and dedicated to support and mediation for creators in the performing, live and literary arts, managed by mediator Elisa M. Matallín together with Jota Gil Salvador, a secondary education teacher.
The VI edition of the (2+2) Project consolidates a line of work based on interterritorial collaboration and the strengthening of networks between creation spaces across the State.

2.PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Inestable and Somiatruites organise the VI Edition of the (2+2) Residencies, a programme of 4 creation residencies.
This edition is developed in direct collaboration with four partner spaces of reference in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands:
-Teatre Nu (Barcelona)
-Teatre Tantarantana (Barcelona)
-Teatre Sans (Palma de Mallorca)
-Sa Talaia (Santanyí, Mallorca)
This edition is aimed exclusively at projects that are artistically or structurally linked to, or in a process of collaboration with, one of these four partner spaces.
The aim of the programme is to:
-Support performing arts creation processes in the development phase.
-Foster mobility and exchange between territories.
-Strengthen cooperation between independent creation spaces.
-Generate a working framework that connects rural and urban contexts.
The residency will take place at Somiatruites and may include mediation actions or an opening of the process in order to generate dialogue and exchange with the territory.
This call is opened for the selection process of 1 proposal in the process of creation linked to the Sa Talaia project. The company must have its registered office outside the Valencian Community.

3.RESIDENCY CHARACTERISTICS
Dates
-From 14 to 20 September 2026.
Accommodation
-Accommodation for a team of up to 4 people.
-Stay of 6 nights at Somiatruites (Sant Mateu, Castellón).
-Estimated in-kind value: €500 per company.
-Two companies will live together in the same space during their residency period.
Workspace
-Open-plan space of approx. 40 m2. Linoleum floor.
-Open-plan space of approx. 25 m2. Terrazzo floor (carpet possible).
Common areas: garden, living room, kitchen and 3 bathrooms.
Financial support
-Contribution of €1,200 + taxes per company for the residency and support for creation. Travel expenses are not covered.

4.ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
The call is addressed to:
-Creators and companies working in theatre, dance or circus.
-National or international applicants resident in Spain.
-With a project in the process of creation (not in the initial phase).
The residency team may not exceed 4 people.
The following will be positively valued:
-Emerging or mid-career trajectories.
-Diverse teams in terms of gender and origin.
-Projects with a vocation for continuity and circulation.

5.APPLICATION
The application period will end on June 25, 2026 at 11:59 pm. The application should be send to the following email address: satalaiasantanyi@gmail.com.
Applicants must attach:
-Artistic dossier (max. 3 pages).
-Description of the project and creation phase.
-Justification of the link with Sa Talaia.
-Team CV (max. 2 pages).
The results will be communicated by email and published on the websites of Sa Talaia and Inestable.
6.SELECTION CRITERIA
Proposals will be assessed by the artistic direction of Inestable in dialogue with the partner spaces, according to:
-Artistic quality and conceptual solidity of the project.
-Suitability to the conditions of the rural residency space.
-Technical and economic feasibility.
-Degree and coherence of the link with the partner space.

7.OBLIGATIONS OF THE BENEFICIARIES
The beneficiaries undertake to:
-Carry out the residency on the assigned dates, with no possibility of modification.
-Participate in the mediation actions or in a opening of the process if the organisation considers it appropriate.
-Mention the support of the (2+2) Project and of the collaborating spaces in future communications about the project.
-Be legally registered/active during the residency period.
-Travel to Somiatruites bt their own means.
Teams of more than 4 people will not be allowed to participate, nor will stays with animals be permitted.
