SYNOPSIS
"New Light, New. Performing Blai Bonet" is a contemporary, metatheatrical play written and created by Jeroni Obrador that turns acting itself into a performance. Live on stage, audiences watch as the actors' bodies and words transform to bring the writings of Blai Bonet to life.
The story finds the performers on the brink of a dress rehearsal. Raquel, Tomàs's former partner, arrives overwhelmed by anxiety after working on the character of Elvira Skiud (the mother in Parasceve, faced with an impossible decision amid war). Tomàs, meanwhile, wants to use the rehearsal to explore with her and the audience a new tool for the 21st century - one he believes is as important as, or even more important than, AI, but rooted in the actor's emotions and neurobiology.
The intensity of Blai Bonet's character and the proposal to explore physical work on emotions turn the rehearsal into an argument between the protagonists which, in a comic tone, goes far beyond an ordinary rehearsal.
The production combines acting, humour, tension, recorded voice, projected texts and voluntary audience participation. Spectators can experience the actor's transformation alongside the performers from their seats, or simply enjoy the show.
